Ella M. Ryan Carthage Carthage - Ella M. Ryan, 90, of 11056 St. Rt. # 26, formerly of Dalton Estates, died early Thursday morning, March 26, 2009, in the Carthage Area Hospital where she was admitted after being stricken at her residence Wednesday evening. Mrs. Ryan was born in Watertown on November 15, 1918, the daughter of the late John and Vilma Szabo Geng. She was a graduate of Watertown High School. She worked at the former John L. Stortz & Company and later Faichney Instrument Company in Watertown for several years where they produced thermometers. She married Kenneth J. Ryan on August 20, 1949 at Sacred Heart Church in Watertown. Mr. Ryan, a former employee of New York Telephone died on November 2, 2004. She was a member of St. James Church, Carthage. She leaves a daughter and her husband, Maureen A. and Douglas Steria of Carthage, a son and his wife, John P. and Tina Ryan of Essex Junction, VT, 4 Grandchildren, a sister: Irene Moeller of Rolling Hills, CA and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Geng and a sister, Margaret Munson. Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 327 West St. with the Rev. George F. Maroun, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
